Hi,

Is there a way to limit the Camera2D Mode for a specific viewport panel? Currently, the parameter is sync throughout all viewport panels.

You can see an illustration of the problem here:

I check the documentation (https://help.maxon.net/us/#33010) and there is no information regarding the matter. Camera 2D Mode is one of the viewport improvements in R20.

Is there a way around this? Thank you.

Hi Ben,

This is a temporary option to investigate the scene, and it turns all views at the same time into it.

If you need to explore a model more in detail, not temporarily, perhaps add a camera as a child to the primary camera and switch to it whenever required. (OR have a working camera set up for all detail views, named wisely.)
A short click on the Reset PSR function sets this child-camera, while this child camera is selected, back to the parent position, the Field of View will stays (You can set up an Xpresso switch to reset that (or both FOV and PSR). Easy to switch among cameras.

I’m not sure if there is an idea to allow independent 2D Camera views; however, you might make a suggestion here:
https://www.maxon.net/en-us/support/suggestions/

If separated, the question will come, for the same camera which is used in all views, or different cameras in all views separately or just in one? Except for the one only defined for now, or all others…. For all cameras in a specific Take setup, or on particular Layers. Perhaps this leads to two separate functions ‘2D temp camera’ and the ‘2D user config camera’. Where will one adjust these, in the view menu, Attribute Manager while selecting through all cameras, with a view panel selector? How to reset those, all at once or just for specific cameras? You might clear all of that in the suggestion.

All the best
