Hello,

I have an Illustrator logo that I want to use in an Animation.
I saved this logo as an Illustrator 8.0 file.
I merge this in Cinema 4d en put the first spline in Extrude.
The result is very strange, see picture.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Arjan Gelderbloom,

I need a scene file. Images might give a clue, but then guessing starts…

Let me know if you need an upload link.

All the best

Good Morning, Arjan Gelderblom.

I have send this morning (Pacific Time) an upload link to your Cineversity Private Message box. While in the forum, scroll up and kind of in the middle you will find a link to the PM.

I will look into your file first thing in the morning!

For now I call it a day
Cheers

Thanks for the file, Arjan Gelderblom.

Tricky file, all looks fine and nothing works as it should. One can even open and close the spline and it shows up correctly.
However, the problems started, from where I look at it, in Illustrator. Not an application problem, but an user/artist mistake.
All letters/path are there many times on top of each other, again and again. Worse part is the ® sign.

Click on any Spline in Point mode, then count the points and check if that number is given in the Structure Manager.

Solution, fix it from the source (in Illustrator).

In Cinema 4D, click on each spline, use the Mesh> Spline> Explode… Then deactivate all resulting Splines, the Parent looks like a spline but keep it de-activated. Then click though the splines and keep each path needed only one time. If you have a letter e for example, find the two parts, select both while active and use the Object Manger>Objects > Connect Objects + Delete

In any case, all deactivated can be left alone, but I would recommend to delete those.

Since you didn’t mention if that file is public or not, I have send the file to your PM box.

All the best
