Hi, i have tried different options to combat texture slipping on my arrow model. I have it moving, via spline wrap on a circle spline, bake texture, stick texture tag, different projections, but nothing works. Can this be achieved?, I want to have the tail of the arrow fade out to transparency, thank you, Craig

Hi Craig,
For many reasons I’m not on Yosemite (a decision which is not based on C4D and its use, just to be clear). So I can tell. When I click your link, my e-mail app opens.
If you have a different way, one that we used before, perhaps… ;o)
I will look into it, as soon as I get the file (Please “save with Assests”)
Hi DR. Sassi, I thought that I was copy/pasting as before, but in Yosemite, it is not working, more likely I am doing something wrong, I did try again, would you mind checking?. Thank you for your efforts, Craig
Of course, I checked again, and if needed we can try out whatever you like, please – never hesitate to ask. However, I know how it must feel on your side.
Go to your initial post and click edit, you should see the “result” then, but it looks like you pressed the button for e-mail @ and not a <a> for a link.
I have attached two images with my results. Lets see what we can do else!
Craig, this is what I have seen here many times, so don’t you worry. We get this to work.
In the moment the address (URL) of the link contains at least the term “dropbox.com” and some /// with stuff between, you should be very close, to say the least.
I will stay tuned for more tries. At least, when we have cleared it, you have a way working for your clients. :o)
The answer to the question is based on the settings of the Gradient. The 3D Gradient for the arrow is perfectly set up and the data used would work, if you move the axis of the arrow.
BUT: In the Spline-Wrap, the points are moved, with the points the polygons move, not the axis. In that way the “texture space” is static and the polygons slip.
If you switch to “2d-V” the UV space is used—which relates to the mesh and not to the origin/axis. Then it sticks.
Let me know if that solves the issue for your project target.
Hi Dr. Sassi, well, at least I uploaded properly, but my arrow is still moving through the texture, even after your suggestion- any thoughts?, any thank you
I have uploaded a preview for you, Craig, to have it as clear as possible, I placed a gradient into the Color Channel, and used some obvious colors. The file itself is attached below.
Let me know if the clip and the file will not produce the same result on your side.
Hey now!, this worked!- for the life of me, I don
‘t know why mine did not. I may have not mentioned, but I wanted the tail of the arrow to fade, so I placed the gradinet, copy/paste into the alpha, black to white , it seems to be sticking-thank you so much as always. At the very least I learned something today, about “world space” in the program, Best, Craig
