Multi Shader Random • Editor View vs Render

I have set up a multishader with many images on a cloner with many clones.  Utilizing a Random effector with PSR off and Color Mode On I have the multishader working.

Problem is, the distribution of images I see in the unrendered editor window is completely different than the render in the editor window and in the output.

Why would this be?  Is there a solution?  I get the distribution of images to my liking in the editor but then it changes upon render.  It is much less random and I get some images over and over and some not at all.

Thanks

T

Hi TAK,

Please share an simplified scene file, that reproduces the problem. Thanks.

All the best

I believe the culprit may be RENDER INSTANCES.  I generally like to use Render Instances to keep memory in check but it apparently messes with Multishader.

I am doing further experiments.  Will let you know if I find some other funkiness.

Thanks !

Hi TAK,

I assume that setting up a simplified scene supported the solution.

You have certainly checked the Help Menu already, but as I write here in a forum, I like to suggest this:
CINEMA 4D> CINEMA 4D Prime> Create Menu> Modeling Objects> Instance Object.

All the best
