Hey all,
I’m rigging my first a cat, got to the animation phase and am running into some issues. First question is about rig flexibility: The rig doesn’t allow some poses I’m trying to achieve and not sure if it’s the limitation of the rig or if there are extra options that I’m not seeing. The attached image, cat_pose.jpg is what I’m trying to achieve. More specifically, the hind leg/foot and how it’s completely flat on the ground. The current rig rotates around the ankle area (where the metatarsals and phalanges meet) so if I put the tarsals and metatarsals flat on the ground, the phalanges point up to the sky.
The second question is when I make the cat’s tail, the controllers are aligned with each other instead of how you would think they would align (the pictures are pretty self explanatory). I tried to edit them in adjust > controller mode, but to no avail.
Third and final question. Is there a good animation pipeline for selecting controllers? More specifically, it would be nice to select controllers in a list like in the object panel instead of finding it in the viewport. This would also help for when selecting all of the controllers to apply a keyframe to the entire rig for each pose.
I’m sure I will have many more questions in my rigging endeavors. Thanks for the help!
