Start Emitter Before Frame 0

I’m building a tropical fish tank in my scene. I’m using an emitter with a sphere to create the appearance of bubbles floating up the left side of the tank (rough sample image attached). I’d like the “bubbles” to be already floating up at frame 0, but it’s like the emitter needs a few frames to “wind up” before it gives me the look I’m going for. Is there anything I can do to start the emitter before frame 0 so that by the time the full scene begins, I already have a good number of bubbles floating to the top?

Hi Jasonsone,

You need to set the Particle Emiter to Start, e.g., “-10” [frames]

Then the timeline to “-10” frames. (Or more !)

Render out from frame zero and as far as you need to get your result.

Tip. You can “Bake” the particles. IF done this, the time line can be set back to zero.

I have made a little one minute clip for you. The MoGraph suggestion is optional. :o) But perhaps with some more adjustments in the random Effector…

You can download the clip if you like.

Let me know if there is any other question.

All the best

Wow! I knew I could set the emitter to start at negative frames, but I had no idea I could back to the timeline up before 0. I’ve been using C4D for 2+ years now, and I love that I learn something new about it every day! Thanks!
