Hello
I was wondering : is there a method to place a custom logo in the lower right corner of the UI
( like in the Cineversity tutorials) or is this done by a videolayer afterwards?

HI Henk,

The tutorials have a watermark from “post-production”, as the UI is not really an option for rendering other than with screen capture software.

If you like to have it in your renderings, use the Render-Settings>Effect>Watermark.

If you would tell me more what you like to do, e.g., record a tutorial, then I have perhaps more specific information.

For temporal use: Perhaps not really the question, but you could always load an image into a material and open the image in a new window and place this into the interface as any other UI frame. See image. It might not be a stable solution for UI switching, though.

I typically record uncompressed or lossless compressed. Placing a logo into it, might cause problems later on, if the logo changes or any other compression is needed. So, for me, it might be in post anyway.

My best wishes

Ok thanks Sassi for now the ‘image in new window’ method is ok.( it’s for a short live presentation to a visiting cliënt)  The rest I’ll do in post anyway.

My best wishes for the presentation, Henk.

Additional idea: Perhaps you place a low contrast logo on a Background Object, just enough to serve as watermark, but not strong enough to interfere with the objects in the scene. A Fore-ground object with a mainly transparent image would maybe too strong.

Thanks for the feedback

I know that, as you wrote, Henk. But I certainly think that this would violate something if I tell it.

My best wishes for your presentation.

Nice that your presentation went well.

I have perhaps to read the license agreements again (… yeah! my favorite thing ;o) to see what it says about changing parts which are not supposed to be customized. (I feel I have to write this, and be the Bean-Counter here for a moment, sorry about that!)

All I care about is, that you got anything you need and you can move your project/work to the next level.

My best wishes.

Hi Sassi , don’t worry !
Wouldn’t want to loose that one !  it is never my intention to offend. It is not to be continued. I’ll set my logo’s in post anyway.
That’s why i proposed to close this thread. Just had a little naughty fun showing you what i found out. .

Sorry if I gave anything that made you uncomfortable to do what you do, Henk. Not my intention.

As it is a public forum—I thought before this idea becomes “legs” and spreads out, I felt the need to say something. That’s all. Changing things deeper in the data set of the application is not supported and might cause problems later on, perhaps long after one has already forgotten what was changed at one point. I care, but I do not blame or have any intention to make one wrong.

I know you want to have it later in post in a different way.

Please enjoy the fruits of your efforts and don’t let things like this put a shadow on it. Again sorry about my concerns.

My best wishes.
