Randy, the scene in the editor-view refreshes, but you can also refresh it with the A key, just the a key on the keyboard.
Any information that was not available after the process went one time per frame, the information goes to the next frame [during rendering] , etc. Hence the delay sometimes with priority problems. To refresh the scene means to take that “late” information as well into account.
In the editor view, one time refreshing would be not an option, but it doesn’t update if nothing else happen. IF that is the case, the A key can trigger a refresh, just to check the scene.
Normally each action, like adding an object, etc, refreshes the scene, hence the change, if not all information was available before.
In your scene that was the first I did, thanks to name it 2nd, which indicated to me something that made me do it. The refresh and priority “stuff” is not really a clear visual thing, so it is kind of tricky.
