my c4D R16 suddenly has become really slow and laggy. Im not doing anything different. Do I need to empty a cache or something? its becoming to slow to work properly. Not sure whats happened.

This can have many reasons. Open a new scene and check if this is slow as well.
Texture preview, if chosen too large for your system might be teh case here, given our last discussion.
It is a longer story, and I would like to explore this for your case, perhaps when I’m back (I answer here from my iPhone).
