I am attempting to create a ripple effect on a plane similar to this link:

At about the 9 second Mark is the best example…

Any help is VERRY appreciated… Im not necessarily looking to create the effect on an amount of cloned boxes rather a solid surface plane…

Sorry about that it is the Sports demo reel at the 9 second mark where the cavaliers court ripples from center outwards…

Please have a look, perhaps you can reduce the scene, or do more in “post”.

Certainly to get from no motion to motion needs some “key-framing”, e.g., the Formula Deformer, can be set to Falloff>Weight 0-100%.

In the second image I have set the “gradient based” materials to “Tile/Seamless”. You might explore some projection adjustments as well.
