Selection tags on primitive objects

I recall long ago seeing a video in which the user entered ‘cap’ in the selection setting of a material tag that was assigned to a primitive object. I though he entered ‘Cap 1’ and was able to restrict the material to the cap on a cylinder. However, I’m unsure what specific text was entered in the selection field. Any suggestions?

Hi Andy.Man,

Sorry for the delay, I checked early but since I have gotten no e-mail notification.

The pre-defualt selections are C1 C2 R1 and R2

One per Selection field and always capitals, not small letters.

It is available in several objects, e.g., Extrude or Sweep.

The most right positioned Texture tag will be on top. So in order to see the C1, C2, R1 and R2, the overall material (or main body material) needs to be left in the Object manager.

All the best

Manual:
Apply a material to the start cap by using the Selection box (Texture tag). For example, type in C1 to apply the material to the start cap (use a capital C). The options are:
C1 = Start Cap (Cap 1)

C2 = End Cap (Cap 2)

R1 = Start Rounding (Rounding 1)

R2 = End Rounding (Rounding 2)

You’re welcome, Andy.Man.

I have attached some examples, just in case.

My best wishes.
