Small Connected splines disappear

I am creating an extrude using multiple splines. I have a circle with smaller circles inside, so that the final extrude is a disk with four holes in the center. I create the first [largest circle], then the smaller ones, then they are nested in a ‘connect’. Finally the ‘connect’ is nested inside an ‘extrude’

This works, but the following is my issue: When I set the smaller holes’ radius to the size I need [.059 in] they disappear from the extrude.

If I make them [.5 in] they reappear - at [.4 in] they disappear.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi froslie,

Would you mind to share a scene file?

All the best

The first file has static sized holes, the second file goes down to 0.001 cm (~0.0004 in)

Thank you for the files…

Here is a scene file; if you change the lower the radius to [.4] it disappears.

I see that you’re using a spline mask rather than my - extrude > connect method.

Typically, I do this sort of thing in Solid Works, which clearly serves much different purposes - maybe I’m going about it the wrong way.

Than you for your time!

Thanks for the file, froslie.

If you use the Connect Object with such small objects, avoid to leave the “Weld” mode on ( or adjust the tolerance accordingly). I have not found any information if the Connect Object has any problems/limitations with Splines.

I hope that helps!

All the best
