I am animating the appearance of the polygons but I have these dots showing up in my render since I have the luminance on in the material.

Suggestion for getting around this issue and still keeping my luminance.

Hi CreativeRaul,

Just by looking at an image, I’m afraid I can’t.

As you don’t share the scene file, I assume you can’t share, so please reduce it to a few parts which allow to see the effect in a scene file.

All the best

Dr. Sassi

Not a problem. Here is a link to a piece of the project scene.

Any thoughts are welcomed.

Thanks you.

Hi CreativeRaul,

I do not have these plug ins, so anything I can tell, is based on a scene without those. See image.

The unwanted effect seems to be driven by the AtomArray, and there by the sphere components. There is no option to set them smaller than the tubes, such as set them to zero. So, this need an alternative.

The simplest, but not the best, is to “MaxUV” and apply a texture in that way to each polygon. In the scene it is called Alternative, and switched off, as it becomes weak, if the polygons are tangential to the camera or to something reflective in such a way.

The way I would do it, is to use the Connect Object, to get the PolyFX of the Polygons as “Object [matrix]” into a Cloner and scale an object to 100% along the edges. In teh moment teh edge is 0% long based on teh PolyFX, the edge based on the Cloner will be invisible.

Have a look into the file.

All the best

Sassi

Just a little hint how to create a “Tube Only Atom Array” with a cloner, as in the scene file above.

Dr. Sassi,

That is a genius solution. It’s resource intensive for my scene since I subdivided my model to get the desired look I wanted. Never the less its a new process to add to my skill set.

Thank you.

Hi CreativeRaul,

Nice that it works for you. :o)

It shouldn’t be harder on the scene, as long as the used Cylinder has not a higher resolution than what you have used in the AtomArray. In fact, as you might not produce the spheres of the AtomArray it should be better and faster. ;o)

My best wishes for you project!

Yes I’m realizing I will need to redo my scene setup to optimize it.

Great that we “talked” about, CreativeRaul!

Don’t forget to switch off “caps” for the cylinder.

I hope you will have success with your work
