Do I have to read every title to find out how to model a human?

Yes, I am a newbie. Why o why are there no (or hidden) tutorials on what I would think would be the easiest and most basic thing of all- modeling humans!? I’ve looked and looked and searched but can’t find anything on simply how to model humans. Rigging yea, but just how to make one. Nope. Help! Is it just me? Where are they?

If someone has a similar question, please check out these series. If there is a common request, perhaps a “Request Tutorial” will make sense. But it is a complex theme, nothing that I suggest for beginners.

...and the following parts
It has many parts in its discussion that come close to the needs of a human head.

Some ideas about Body modeling:

... and again continue with the rest of the series.

More standard modeling details are found in Patrick’s series (all of them), but for example:
http://www.cineversity.com/vidplaytut/modeling_a_fork
Follow the list.

The human body is not reproducible, ha,—got you. Well it is, but the question is highly—to which degree. Example—model an ear. ... or an eye, how much detail will you integrate? Sculpting comes to the game and then texturing, when modeling doesn’t work anymore, time-wise for example.

Modeling by itself is a job in its own rights. Nothing that can be learned in a weekend course, if professional results are needed. To model a human figure, that could be used in high end production is certainly an art form. The skills to do that can be gained if the willingness and something like an “3D IQ” is given. :o)

Just allow yourself some time, and study “Anatomy” in detail, as procedural “humans” might not convince your audience.

Good Luck.
