Dynamics With Clones

Hi all,

I’ve got a building setup going where most of the building is cloned to repeat the floors in a pentagonal shape and then cloned again to make it 10 stories high.  I want to explode the building now, but when I apply dynamics to the base shapes, the clones repeat the base shape’s dynamics instead of all acting independently.  Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere that will allow all of the cloned objects to act dynamically independent of each other?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the fast reply to your own question, FinsihVFX.

I was just rebuilding the scene. Typically it is the Attribute Manager>Collision>Individual Elements>All that makes it work. But as things might change, I test normally everything in the current version, before I write.

All the best

Just a little tip how to set up the scene 5*10 (ten stories in pentagonal shape) and use the Render Instances, as that might be a render saving time.

The idea is here to use a “Primitive” but sometimes a set up can be transferred into single polygons (proxy clones so to say) and these “connect” to a new object, which allows to stand as a matrix for the distribution.

Perhaps worth a try if the scene becomes really large.

I hope both files allow for a relatively flexible creation of a set up.
