Hi Guys,

I need to get a Maya Scene File into C4D R15 Studio with textures, cameras, keyframes, EVERYTHING in tact. How can I do that?

Hey Joey,

I have no knowledge about a one click scene conversion option of a complete MAYA scene to get everything possible into C4D. Perhaps you might check with the support, as I believe your scene file is not for public.
Just a gut-feeling: the complexity* of the scene set up in MAYA is certainly critical for the way it needs to be done. I guess a simple FBX, Collada, Alembic option might not get all the parts, perhaps it does.

* Complexity means here not only the native parts of MAYA, but also 3rd party material used in the given MAYA version, e.g., Plug-Ins or MEL scripts for example. Thinking of the different way MAYA produce models, etc.

Thank you my friend for your time. I have been troubleshooting it…found that the Maya Scene has Mental Ray materials in it…so I need to purchase Mental Ray for C4D to be able to see this scene with the materials attached.
