Creating Blood Flowing Through a Vein, Part 1

Hi,

We are running into a problem with the rigid body tag.  When we apply it to the cloner, the blood cells still flow into the vessel wall and travel through the closed valve.  We are using R14, and we may be missing something in the selection/configuration process from R11.5.

Thanks

I’ll try to get it uploaded and link to you soon.  It’s one my student is creating from the tutorial.
Thanks

Yeah. It would be easiest to troubleshoot with the file…then I’ll make notes on the tutorial page.
I guess I could rebuild it too…but then I won’t know where the actual difference is without watching the whole tutorial. ( Not that I don’t love the sound of my own voice smile )

OK, I put two files into my dropbox and shared it with your maxon.net email address I had on file for you.  Please let me know if there are any problems.

Hi Steve,
I got the file.
You will need to click on the dynamics tag on the cloner with the “blood_cell”
This tag should have “Dynamic” on the “Dynamics” tab set to “on”
Also on the “Collision” tab you will need to set “Individual Elements” to “All”
Those 2 things should work.
I’ll still have to check the tutorial again to see where that might have been missed as dynamics went through a bit of an update a few versions back.

I know this is an older video, but I am running C4D R15, and after doing the extrudes, no window opens when trying to do the Subdivide, there is also nowhere that I see that I can select Hypernurb Option for the Subdivide.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

In the menu, R15, there is a little “cogwheel” icon. If the mouse indicator moves over this icon, you get the interface. Let me know if that was the missing part.

Short cut: Type the “U” and then hold the Shift while type an “S’.

All the best

Great!  That was it, hadn’t noticed the little cogwheel over there before.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the reply, Jeff.

I hope your question will help others as well to see that option.

My best wishes
