Normally yes. I say that with cautions, as the number of 3D printers have exploded. The STL (or even the obj) export is a way to get this done.
If you like to check out one option, perhaps you give that a shot (no guarantee from our side for the 3rd party software of course):

This allows you to check your workflow and scale—etc. If the object works nicely in the software, it should go then as well as the developers of the printer allow it.
There are many tutorials about this theme on the web, how to get the object into the real world.
Keep in mind that a model builds up layer by layer, so not all shapes might be possible without supportive elements (which needs to be removed later.)
To my knowledge, some work with software, some can even take the data via an usb drive, which means that you can run many printers at the same time without blocking your computer.
