Delay Effector in series

Hi Folks;

I am working on an animation where a photo grows from small to large in a series, demonstrating growth and progression. I added the photo, put it in a linear cloner and added a step effector, which produces exactly the effect I am looking for with one annoying exception. The base clone and the last clone appear right after each other, then the other clones fill in the space.

What I need to do is show the full progression with the last clone appearing at the end of the animation. I have adjusted the mode but it doesn’t seem to affect it. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can achieve this?

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

Do you mind to share your file? The Title tells something about the Delay Effector, but doesn’t show up as part of your text. So I assume I miss something. A file would support the problem solving a lot.

To just increase the size each time, you can use the options in the Cloner already. No Effector needed, perhaps that let eh problem vanish. See image. I used here 200%. OF course the distance should increase perhaps as well dynamically? Your scene would help here.

All the best

Hey Dr. S

Thanks for the reply. I have attached a sample file. The issue I am having is I need the last clone, to appear at the end of the animation, so that it looks like a serial progression (smallest to largest) It currently appears right after the first clone. If you animate the count in the cloner you will see what I mean.

Does that make sense?

Yes, shame on the web-master, hehe. Please “zip” (compress) the file, then it should work.

Hey Dr. S

Delay Effectors were not used sorry for the confusion, just a cloner. All I need is the cloner to iterate in seqeunce so it looks like it growing. Does that make sense?

Steve,

Use “stuffit.com” to zip. Zip is a standard, since many decades. Your computer should be able to create it.

I see the same clone appears three times. I see that you point in the image that the front clone is number two, but they look all the same. Sorry that image is not helping.

May I ask a favor, I’m not happy to be named here just with an S, thanks.

Best

P.S. here is the simplest file I can think of. No Effector needed.

Hi Dr. Sassi

Thanks for the assist. Greatly appreciated as always. I looked at yours and mine and discovered my issue. I used PlaneSmart to bring in the .png and it created a background layer between the cloner and the actual png. That was causing it to iterate the last clone 2nd. Once I placed it directly under the cloner it behaved as your file did exactly the way I want it to.

I have Winzip and RAR for compression. I am on a Windows machine. My version of Winzip is demo only that’s why I use WinRAR for my compression but I may bite the bullet and purchase a copy.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Hey Steve,

Thank you! :o)

Plane smart, well that is new information!

Sorry about the Stuffit link, I was not aware that they charge now even for the simplest version. There are certainly some zip apps for free, but quite honestly—I do not know for windows. I use Stuffit since the mid ‘90s and the option to provide even passwords a compressed file gave me so far always “peace of mind” with critical files on the web.

There are other ways, Dropbox etc to share files.

All the best
