Insydium has Cactus Dan’s old tools up and running on their website, but for the life of me, even using their Bridge plugin, I can’t get CD Tools up and running on R17, R25 or R26. Cactus Dan, may he rest in peace, had a wonderful tool called “True Spline IK,” which he demonstrates in this video at the 7:23 mark:

As you can see, it allows you to pull on the tip controller and the Spline IK will straighten out like regular IK. Since “True Spline IK” was created back in 2009, is there any way to easily recreate this effect in, say, R26? I’ve created a tentacle, and despite the many tentacle tutorials available, I can’t find one that specifically addresses the issue of how to curl a tentacle, and move the tip of the tentacle using Spline IK to push back on the joints behind it, especially without smushing the suckers sculpted into the bottom of the tentacle. Basically things that seem to be easily doable in other programs. I’m pretty dumb when it comes to xpresso and other such solutions, but willing to learn.

As their website states :
With the creation of our Bridge, we have been able to get the full set of Cactus Dan’s CD Tools working within Cinema 4D versions R14 – S24.

There is no mention of anything newer than S24. (Yes, I saw you mentioning R17)

Thanks so much for the reply, Dr. Sassi. I’ve been corresponding with Insydium. Hopefully they’ll be able to come up with a solution to keep the Cactus Dan plugins up and running for future Maxon releases. Lots of great stuff in there.
