How to display weight colors in the weight manager in R21?

Back in the old days (R18 et al) shift-double-clicking on the weight tag brought up the weight manager, and displayed all the weights as colors on the surface of the model. Clicking on a particular joint displayed its influence of that joint so it could be adjusted. However, when I do this in R21, the colors are limited to the joints and don’t appear on the mesh.

The Help dialogue indicates that the display has to be set to “Object” for the colors to appear, but that doesn’t change anything for me. I am sure the problem at root is that I have a clickbox set to “off” that should be “on,” but I have clicked every box I can find and it makes no difference. In my model (link attached) the head is picking up influence from the spine, and I can’t adjust because I can’t see the influences. In the old days I could just lasso that influence and delete it from the joint. Now I’m at sea :(

Is there a magic button?

Hi mford610,

Switch the SDS (Subdivision Surface) off, and all is fine.

Cheers

Right, “these buttons”, … time to do something against it! wink

Thanks for your reply, mford610, enjoy your project.

Cheers.
