Hi,

Anyone help me to make these as dynamic object, I tried rigid body…but its like a one solid object.

It should move with centre rope, If I move it or hang it….!

Hi Imran,

I have tried several options, but I believe the use of Cloth is, in this case, the most straight forward.

Here is an example scene: (updated)
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/8RAFkskOsg9Zs9BIEfpeiTwmAxAxNctg6WTA0jhMQU1

If you have a specific question, please let me know. I can do even a short screen capture about a particular problem. TO cover the whole process would be more a tutorial (Use the request tutorial forum then)

Please note that I have cached the Cloth. Any change will be only visible if the cache is cleared. I recommend caching after a change.
The Layers are named, so it might be easier to go through the scene.

The explosion effects will look weird if no motion blur is used.

ENJOY

Thanks Dr. Sassi… this is nice… can be work for other scene.

I am not in animation and no idea what this function called.

If I move/pull the centre rope axis (left right up).... cracker should move along with that.

Thanks.

You’re very welcome, Imran.

The main object is the Cloth, this needs to be moved, and it is moveable with its Belt.

Clear the Cache of the Cloth, switch off the Wind objects. While adjusting.

Press play and move the Cube (orange Layer) slowly. The Cube is used as the Belt object for the Cloth. You will find it as the fifth object from the top in the Object Manager.

Anything else should follow it, except the Linear Falloff of the Plain Effector (Mint Green Layer). After the Belt is animated, switch the Wind Objects back on, and Cache the Cloth. Now adjust the Linear Falloff to get the animation based on the cloners.

All the best

Thanks for update.

If I move the belt…. it works but crackers should be in fall position, (gravity force and collide with each other) not straight.

Thanks.

Imran,

My memory of those cracker-belts is more that they resemble a kind of a stiff belt rather than being so flexible. But, if you need to have it more flexible, here is my list of exploration.

I checked out
• Hair>Instances
• Hair as base for MoGraph
• CV Connector
• Softbody> Clones
• Cloth> Fabric

All of those won’t really give me all your requirements.

Here is the one that comes closest:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/Yp8myztEGI265oQCcfGS390PsuqwTWDbKEMf3wJum25

Please note that the clones are not pulling on the center fuse at all. This has been and will be a limitation. As the center fuse would change and with it the clone (each clone) which in return would change everything again. An endless loop. The joints take a little bit care of that.

I would use the Point Cache on the Cube with the Skin. Just to overcome some problems down the road. If you use it, switch then (after) the Skin Object off.

Enjoy your exploration.

P.S.: I have to find Chris Schmidt’s Octopus Arms, perhaps that might work…

You’re very welcome, Imran, thanks for the feedback.

Two tutorials came to my mind, and perhaps they might sparks some ideas. However, I think the dynamic joints might be my favorite for this theme.
