I have recently bought a new Mac Pro 12 core with 32gig ram and have Cinema 4D 10 and after 4 years I’m finally getting a up grade to the newest Cinema 4D version Hay!!! My question is that I’m having trouble with rendering out now on the Mac Pro with Cinema 4D 10 with movie files or even tiff files. So with the new Cinema 4D 13 version will it be more compatible with the newer Mac pro system? Does this make any sense?
Thanks

I can make no comments about Version 10 as that is 5 releases already.
That said there are no issues that I am aware of with people working in R13.
Usually a format not showing up indicates a codec issue or something like that.
In most cases the best idea is to call tech support…although I think R10 is out of their jurisdiction at this point.

Anyway, CONGRATS! on the upgrades!

I went with an eight core through all these versions and I never have had any problems in production.
with rendering.
Just a simple guess: Sounds like a QuickTime problem to me, but well—that is normally a support question.
You might get in contact with them or at least check out if you have QuickTime Pro7 running on your system.

Guessing is not my taste nor really pro like, as you get R13—you might have soon no concerns about R10 anymore,
especially not when you see how much faster R13 is.

Enjoy the 12 core, it is certainly a fun machine.

You’re welcome Midnightrider. Enjoy the 12 “cylinders” :o)

P.S.: to get the highest performance—check the RAM amount, the slots should be filled pairwise (matched) and the configuration of the complete machine is critical. To my knowledge, just to fill it completely might not improve the system (sounds weird, but check with your dealer).
