Opening Several Versions of C4D?

Hi,

I own a copy of R20. My potential client has R18.
It is a rigging task and I would prefer we have the same version to avoid problems as much as possible.

Is it possible to install R18 on my computer using the R20 license?

I haven’t tried it as I’m afraid it will forfeit my license.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi bentraje,

I’m not in the sales or license area active, nor is Cineversity the right place to ask, even if I would love to help you.

My tip would be to ask for a temporarily unlocked version (demo) of R18, whereby I have no idea if there is any longer an option for that.
Please contact your sales representative, make clear that at any time, you will have only one or the other application running.

Thanks for being so careful with the license, I really appreciate it, as I take this theme with any app as seriously as you do.
Fingers crossed, and thanks for your care about the subject.

Cheers

Just to update the thread.
The technical support just came back to me. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to open R18 with an R20 license. Or any other version for that matter.

Anyhow, I understand their decision.

Hi bentraje,

Thanks for the update. I expected it, but I had hope that there is an R18 demo version for a short time, as mentioned above. Also here, I assumed that there is only an R20 at the moment available.

Perhaps you can get the R18 owner to move on.

My best wishes for your work.
