Voronoi Fracture Dynamics Not Falling Logically

Hi,

I have a Voronoi fractured wall that is being broken up by a dynamic object.
However, it does not fall logically even if the connector is added.
You can see an illustration of the problem here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/flz131irp6f38e7/c4d092_fracture_collapse.jpg?dl=0

You see the sample file here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ufgx9pz0jvuhf0j/c4d092_fracture_collapse.c4d?dl=0

Is there a way around this?

Thank you for looking at the problem

Hi betraje,

Here is your file back:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/qFwjBkM8pye2QTAmgq3qYBlzJpjFz36Oy7L2RQmqGO1

The settings that mainly affects the results are the Shape
Ridged Body Tag>> Attribute Manager> Collision> Shape> Moving Mesh, as well as the Offset of the clones,
Voronoi Fracture>> Attribute Manager> Object> Offset Fragments.

The Offset value was chosen during the caching, to have no intersecting clones. After the caching the value was set back to zero

The values for Bounce, Friction as well as the dampening parameters (Force) of the Rigid Body Tag might vary from case to case. The dampening pulls the energy faster out of the chunks, to avoid vibrating in the final phase.

In some cases, it is supportive for the Solve to have an eye on the Project settings - Dynamics> Expert.

As a side note, there is always the option to help with a collider object to kick things, the collider object can be invisible.

All the best

Hi,

Thanks for the response.
Sorry if I mislead you but what I am after is some parts staying and some starts falling apart. Your files falls them apart.
I think this is because of the Moving Mesh option.

Here is a better illustration:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/sj3wpn1vpl1rvfx/c4d092_fracture_collapse_v2.jpg?dl=0

Here is the revised file
https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9fglcll9420oik/c4d092_fracture_collapse_v2.c4d?dl=0

Is this still possible? Thank you

Hi bentraje,

Thanks for the files!

Please have a look here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/TOwaqwsMmnKkBW5YllkHdoXXQ3c6OlQ2GEudUFjVNGb

Let me know if that follows your target.
I have cached it, so you can see exactly what I saw.

If there is anything else, I’m happy to look into it in the morning.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply, bentraje, very much appreciated.

Yes, Fields is an excellent tool for someone who likes to art-direct the results.

Have a great weekend.
