Problem exporting animation to FBX

Hi. I have a scene that uses Voronoi Fracture with several effectors to create my animation. When I run the animation inside of C4D (R20), it looks exactly as I want. However, when I export everything to FBX and then import into Unity, the Voronoi and effectors do not pass through. Can anyone help? I’ve attached a couple of screenshots of what things look like in C4D. Thanks!

Nevermind, I figured it out. I baked my Voronoi object as alembic and then exported to FBX and everything works in Unity exactly as I want.

Hi jasonsone,

Thanks for updating your own thread/question.

My best wishes for your project.

One more tip I learned from this: if your project is scaled in anything besides centimeters, you’ll need to change the scaling of your new alembic export (including all of its children). My project is scaled in inches, but the alembic automatically scaled to centimeters, which made my new alembic object way too small (hopefully in future versions, C4D will have the alembic object automatically scale to the project’s scale). Do this by selecting your new alembic object and all of its children. Then, in the attributes panel, change the scaling to match your project’s scaling and then adjust the number value to get the size you want. See attached screenshot for how I did it. I hope this helps others who run into the same issue I did.

Yes, jasonsone,

if the settings are not defined in the Preferences for one’s typical use, it stays at the default.

I can see your idea as a “Use Project Settings” in the export settings (again Preferences).

A suggestion, if you like to have it, need to go this route:

All the best
