Lint on clothing

Hello again to everyone,
one thing that bothers me a great deal with fabric textures is that there is no imperfection of single threads looking out of the weave in form of normal or bump maps (because that probably is also just very hard to do). But I have come to notice that clothing renders look pretty bad close up without those thousands of little frizzle pieces of cloth (is there an actual term for that?) and lint that you have on basically anything made of cotton. I was wondering how you might set up a hair system to best match that look. I have tried this for a couple days now already and I just cannot seem to get it right. either it isnt enough hairs to make it look good or its so many that it looks like the cloth has actual fur…Is there something in the material settings of the hair system that I am overlooking to get that nice extra detail? In the image attached you can see somewhat the “frizz” (seriously though what is the word for that??) I mean.
Thanks in advance for any answers,
all the best

Hi Aedan Diez,

This was discussed here:

You might check out “Fur” as well. (I don’t know your project, so that needs a test)

Way back in time: (Perhaps put a feature request in to get a Redshift 3D version), here is the manual:
