Viewport not updating with UV map change

Hello,
I’m having an issue UV mapping and texturing with Redshift. I’ve got my handle UV unwrapped (albeit, poorly) and i’ve got my brushed material applied, but I need the grain on the handle to be rotated 90 degrees. So, I go into my UV map and rotate the UV islands to rotate the brush direction on my texture. However, when I rotate the island, the viewport doesn’t change. I’ve got handle as a redshift object and i’m at a loss of what to do to fix this. I’ve got several takes with different textures on this project. I’ve also confirmed I’m moving the correct UV island and it’s not the IPR.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi lthompson,

Thanks for the images, but as usual, images do not tell a detailed “story” of a project setup.

I need a scene file, preferably reduced to the handle object and its material.

With some exceptions (mime type problems), you can attach a zip file here (max 4MB)

All the best

Thank you Dr. Sassi,
I’ve attached a simplified version. When I use a stock library material, I can move the UV map and it updates fine, and there is no stretching of the material either. However, when I use the material I made using a couple noise textures and a material blender, I get a bunch of stretching even though I have the object UV unwrapped. I used the scale parameter in the maxon noise to get the brushed look, but it’s acting more like a tri-planar node and the texture doesn’t seem to update when I move the UV islands. My expectation is for the maxon noise to come through as 2D and rely on the UV map to display correctly, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the file, lthompson.

I love project files. Often only a few clicks are needed to see what happens. Which means I can give you a clear answer.

Click on the Noise Node; in the Attribute Manager, go to
Input> Source> set this to: UV/Vertex Attribute.

Let me know if that works for you.

All the best

Thank you Dr. Sassi! Such prompt response time as well. This kind of service really boosts my confidence that we purchased the right software. Much appreciated.
