Extruding polygons to create a solid shape?

Hi There,

If I cut/paste one of the sides from an editable cube, should I then be able to extrude that polygon to create a solid shape?

With the cut polygon as a separate object in the layer manager, I don’t get a solid object after extruding (see attached).

At first I thought I needed to flip the normals but there’s no change if I go Mesh > Normals > Reverse Normals

Sorry for missing something basic here!

Hi cmscss,

If you have a single Polygon and like to extrude this, use the “Create Cap” option inside the Extrude.

Please be careful with this option, as it can create a lot of trouble later on if added each time. It would create polygons inside multiple extrudes, which is never a good idea.

All the best
