Retime Voronoi cache possible??

I have a complex scene with keyed animation that needs to have speed ramps. It’s Xparticle smoke simulations, Voronoi fractures and some hand keyed objects. I can retime the keyed animation and smoke animations by using a user data null and mapping the user data curves to the “frames”. However, I don’t see this option in a Voronoi cache? Is there any way to retime a Voronoi simulation and tie it into my other retiming user data curve? I did several google searched and I don’t seem to see any option.

Any help is appreciated. TIA.

Hi Pete,

The most comfortable way would be to export and [re-]import Voronoi as Alembic, or Bake as Alembic.

The MoGraph Cache has an Attribute Manager> Playback> Offset Parameter, which can be used to slow down an animation.

Here is an example:

My best wishes for your project

Well, in concept what you mention works…however I noticed that once you bake it out to an amebic file you lose a lot of information. I’m not worried about textures, since I can just re-texture, but you also lose all the Voronoi “detailing” elements. Which really helped in the realism. I’m really surprised that you can add a user detail tag to almost all the elements and retime, but not for dynamics. Kinda frustrating really.
I think what I’ll need to do is change the frame rate from 24 to 96fps, (4x’s the 24) and do the animation in realtime at 96fps, then retime as to 24 in AE for the slow motion.

Thanks for the try my friend.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the feedback.

Please have a look here:

I hope I got the problem correctly (detailing?)

Let me know what you miss.

Cheers
