Sorry to post such a basic question but I can’t for the life of me remember how turn off double-sided polys

Hi ahanford,

That is not really a theme in Cinema 4D, except you have Backface Culling in mind.

Perhaps point me to what you have in mind, with a scene file, so I understand your question.

All the best

Uploading scene files is a headache here, since the attachment feature doesn’t work.

In Lightwave single-sided polys were turned on by default but double-sided could be turned on, instead. I could have sworn that C4D had doubled-sided by default but could be switched to single-sided. I don’t know what backface culling is.

Hi ahanford,

I had sent an upload link a few hours ago. (Private Message).

The question would be, are these polygons, in your case that is visible from both sides (v. single-sided polygons as in game-engines), or are they double there? I have also used applications that had two normals per polygon. I ask as I have seen that term was used in the past in various ways.

If you take a copy of it, and while the object is active, what is the Structure Manager telling you? How many points has the mesh?
Now, use the Mesh> Remove> Optimize…
Has the number of points changed?

All the best
