Hi,

Is there a way to fill a bag with linear…?
I mean, from bottom more and top less air fill.

Thanks,
Imran.

Hi Imran,

Here are a few options.

In the first file [01], you will find a Soft-Dynamic setup, but I have used it only to create a shape. This (Current State to Object) shape was then used for a PoseMorph.

The second file [11] has a fold to explain where the extra paper is coming from.

The third file [21] has a few shapes for the PoseMorph but animates it differently; the shape of the falloff is as well animated.

I think you will find plenty of options to adjust the final shape in one of the provided options.

Let me know if you have a question. I’m happy to look into it.

I was seeing this;

at 5:00

instead of manually packaging wraps… If this pillow style and Air with falloff, if this works for plastic packaging, and some crumple and wrinkle appears from the borders… packaging life will be much easier…!

thanks.
Imran.

Hi Imran,

To create this pillow effect, please have a look here. He uses Cloth.
https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaylist/walking_through_fields_triggering_animation

You want to art direct the shape, and you would like to have that dynamically. To art-direct dynamics, you have to invest more time than harvesting several shapes and animate them manually from the dynamic setup.

In the files above (post #1), I created the Dynamics first, file [01], and then used the full-blown-up shape as PoseMorph target to adjust it precisely in the way I thought it should be.

Please have a look at the file below, and see the progress. On the left is the setup from file [01] as a comparison.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/fGN1CLYu54AJ8t88EfT3wP3T3DFv6aRfjGifBfDtcQu

I have set up a pillow dynamic, then used the two shapes from frame 0 and frame 150 to create a PoseMorph. Since you like to have the bag filled with less air towards the top, you will find that the setup on the right does precisely that.

I understand that you like to do it entirely with dynamics. You want to have it “life”. Find the right “weight-maps” to place it inside the options to influence the dynamic calculation of the dynamics. For each parameter that will determine the way, every single point will be affected by the pressure. There are a dozen of fields to fine-tune the exact behavior of the SoftDynamic. Each map can be seen as a factor of the value. The weight-map multiplies this value with a number between 0 and 1.  It is time-consuming adjustment work. But yes, once it is set up, you can cache the result.
In detail:
https://help.maxon.net/c4d/s24/en-us/Default.htm#html/DYNRIGIDBODYTAG-RIGID_BODY_GROUP_SOFT.html#RIGID_BODY_SB_STRUCTURAL

Here is an example, where the dynamics are stored in Point Cache (dynamic off after caching)

With the PoseMorph, you can change progress/timing and the area where it happens pretty much in real-time.

Have a great weekend.
