Any ideas how to eliminate your scene on render so your model is isolated and selectable as a alpha channel in Photoshop?

Hi Mike,

If the whole scene is needed, then enable the Alpha channel. Note that the Floor object, for example, will be included.

For any work in compositing, with color correction involved, use Straight Alpha. This keeps the border pixels intact, and in that way, you can have the same amount of change on those. Then use the layer-mask (the alpha) on them. I typically would place those in a folder and have the alpha information on the folder, to have the process in the best way. Keep the alpha channel as linear, as it is not an image channel.

If you like to include or exclude objects, use the
Object Manager> Tags> Render Tag> Compositing> (Attribue Manager) Object Buffer #, which gives you the option to render a Multi-Pass> Object Buffer#.

If you have a little example project file, I can record a little set-up demo for you.

All the best

Hey thanks for the insight here. I added a Compositing Tag and deselected “Seen be Camera”. That did the trick. Now when I go into Photoshop Select/Load Selection/Channel/Alpha the model isolated as a selection.

Thanks!!

Thanks for the feedback, Mike.

If there is anything else, let me know. I’m happy to look into it.

Enjoy.
