Hi… check out this file. I have 2 spline deformers set the same, but one object will not “stick” to the helix and the other one does. I don’t see the difference?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the file and for using DropBox; very much appreciated.

If you have two objects that do not have the same settings, and you would like to find out why do the following:
Select both, and check the parameters in the Attribute Manager. Everything that is not the same will be easily identifiable. Sometimes the same value shows up as different, but it is easy to spot by clicking on one and then on the other.
(This is true as long as both objects were created in the same version. If one was imported from an older version, it might happen to have the legacy version loaded, which might look exactly the same, but follows a different code. Rare, but possible.)

In this case, it is the Bounding Box. (… and the Coordinates.)
Your file, (I placed them on a different P.Y value to showcase the two, not needed otherwise.)

ok I’ll take a look when I can but they were duplicates of each other, and then the second one didn’t look the same, so I tried doing some adjustments and nothing seemed to work

Thanks for checking in to it-

Dave,

The numbers for the Bounding-Box were very different. Yes, have a look at the file.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers

Hi… actually, somebody else just had me deselect “fix bounding box” and that works perfectly!

Hi Dave,

Your question was about the difference.

I select them normally, so I can have the object changing without changing the animation. However, it is case-based.

In the example, I checked both. In your scene, one was checked, the other not at all. So, since that is not a default, I assumed that was intentional.

Great that it is working for you.

Hi Dave,

Is there any question open? I think we have cleared the initial problem.

Here is a little pointer about the differences between check box is on or off.

My best wishes for your exploration.

I don’t think so on this matter, but I do have another that I’ve posted in 2 other places and nobody has an answer. I’ll start a new thread

Thank you!

Thanks for keeping the thread low noisy, Dave.

Yes, please open for anything else a new thread. Perfect!

I liked the scene file and the use of Dropbox; thanks for that.

Cheers
