Can I not use the emitter simulation with Redshift?

Hi there,

I am trying to emit some particles from some VDB clouds in my scene - for some reason, the emitter does not show up in the Redshift Render, but it does show up in the physical render.

To make the emitter I went to simulate > particles > emitter. I then attached a pyrocluster to the emitter, and a pyrocluster volume tracer to an environment object for the particles to show up in the render. - This works and shows up when I render a frame with the physical render engine.

Next I need to import some VDB files (some volumetric clouds). The snow will emit out of these clouds.  I figured out how to get the VDB clouds to look how I want them, and am using the Redshift Render view to fine tune it.

The problem is that when I use Redshift though, my snow emitter no longer shows up.

I’m fairly new to Cinema 4D, so am I missing something that would be an easy fix, or can I not use the emitter simulation with Redshift?

Thanks!

Hi kendrick.janet,

I’m not convinced that Pyrocluster and Volume-Tracer have been translated to Redshift for direct and native use.

Please have a look into Redshift Volume (object as well as a shader)
https://docs.redshift3d.com/display/RSDOCS/Volume+Rendering
I assume that is what you are looking for.

Since your question is purely Redshift 3D, I would suggest using the Redshift 3D forum for detailed questions.
https://www.redshift3d.com/forums

Perhaps check the Redshift 3D manual about Sprites (if the snowflakes show up in a close up) or just the Particles part, (e.g., use spheres).

Happy render!

Cheers

Thanks for the reply! I’ve sent it off to the Redshift forums so we’ll see what happens!

Thanks again!

Yes, I saw it, thanks, kendrick, janet.

I’m not certain where that Cinema 4D/Redshift 3D doesn’t support Emitter Particles comes from, surely not from here.

I wrote that the Pyrocluster Shader /Volume Tracer is not translated and needs the Volume solution in Redshift 3D.

Perhaps you referred to a different forum.

I hope you get what you need ASAP.

ENJOY.

Thanks a lot, kendrick.janet, very kind of you.

I’m always happy to look into anything Cinema 4D related.

If you like I can provide an upload link.

Cheers
