If you re-import the FBX to a new C4D file, is that OK?
With no project file, it would be an extended guessing game. Like: have you baked the object, or used the CVSmart Exporter?
What I can suggest since similar question have been asked and solved, try this:
Export as Alembic. Then re-import this file in a new project file. Check if it is as you need it. Then export as FBX.
