Exporting Spline as FBX?

Hello,

Hitting an export snag. Trying to export both a generated spline and its sweeped geometry as an FBX.

I have tried: exporting as FBX, toggling all applicable settings, baking the objects as alembic and then exporting those as FBX.

None of these options have worked and I’ve arrived at something of an impasse.

Does anyone have any ideas/insights?

Here is a link to my project file if anyone has the free time in which to take a look.

Hi helloimneil,

Please have a look at the files as well as the screen-capture.

To produce a new Spline via the MoSpline, you can use the MoSpline to generate it with a Destination Spline. Call up a Spline> Empty Spline for that purpose, in case the MoSpline isn’t giving you what you need already.

I have streamlined the scene, based on the ideas of information flow, or let us call it priorities. (First five seconds of the clip.)

I hope that helps. In case I missed something, please let me know.

All the best

P.S.: I re-imported the FBX into the original scene. Then I placed two new objects to the Spheres. The layer colors differentiate the groups.

It looks like they match.

Thank you for breaking down this process! I was convinced that it was an impossibility based on my attempts, and, from what I had read online from other users. Always glad to be proved wrong in these situations!
