Hello Sassi,

I’ve been trying to replicate this cordioid geometry as shown in the link below:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ht6hxuo3mq2804/cardioid.gif?dl=0

I added a circle spline, then created another circle in a cloner, set to object mode using the first circle spline. Then added a step effector to control the scale of each clone. I’ll worry about sweeping the splines later so they render. My scene file is below if you’re interested. I’m just not getting the desired result. Any tips?

Kind regards,
David

Hi David,

Thanks for the file and the info (gif). Always a pleasure to start from!

Please have a look at the file below:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/qiicKH0Y2oqmIgdrzIPrBuU6wcs4nXrcESbzhqp8kvw
The green circle is for the path, and the red one is for the scale. The Formula Effector is only there for the animation and perhaps needs your input. wink

I tested a few setups, but this seems to be the most simple one.

Let me know if you need anything else, I’m happy to look into it.

Enjoy.

Hi David,

It seems that the last update of the forum has taken some posts.

Here are all files again in one link.

Since it would feel odd to miss your own posts, I retrieved them from my emails:

Title: Cardioid 2
Message: So I see the Rail Spline with the tick box “Scale” is driving the
size of each of the clones. I’ve learned something today, thank you for
shining the light!

Title: Cardioid 3
Message: Very kind again - I was also playing with MoInstance to generate the
clones but again was challenged with correct scaling along the spline. Many
ways to get the same outcome as we know. Enjoy your day too.

Title: Cardioid 4
Message:My eyes are bulging! Not many people like you around… [img]/images/smileys/smile.gif width=“19” height=“19” alt=“smile”

Again, thanks for the file and your very lovely replies.

Have a great rest of the week.

Thanks for understanding, David.

The update caused only minimal damage to the forum’s posts, but I hope I was able to restore all. Except for my own entries here, as I never get a copy of my own posts.

Have a great day
