RENDER MANAGER PROBLEM

Hey guys I got a problem with the Rendermanager that drives me crazy.

I set up different scenes that I like to render over night,
multipasses, png output, cameras are set, savepathes are set- all is fine
except the resulting RGB pass png sequence looks like ambient occlusion.

Once I open the scene traditionally and start rendering via picture viewer
everything is fine- RGB looks like RGB.
What am I overlooking?
Thanks for enlighting me.

Mark

(By the way I’m on C4D R20/ win 10)

As soon as I add a diffuse pass I get also my rgba pass rendered properly.
without a diffuse pass my rgba pass looks like ambient occlusion
Seems the rendermanager doesnt accept rgba anymore, just diffuse.

Is it a bug or a feature? Maybe on basis of the nodebased material system?

Hi Mark,

While I tested it carefully, I got your message a little bit late, as we have had 1.5 hours black here. So, sorry for my delay, and no solution here. However, I really don’t know what Multi-pass of Cinema4D you use, nor what setup at all.

What happens if you use the Regular Image> Save As… as well for the rendering with a different name (just to be safe). Yes, that would be a workaround for now.

Please contact the support, I tried to recreate the problem here, but I can’t. I use the “Add all…” to the multi-pass, and used PNG (PNG, which I typically don’t use, hence my several test setups.)

I assume you are on the latest built of course.
I will research this a little bit more, but for now, I have to redirect you to the support.

My best wishes

Hey Sassi, thanks for your fast answer! I’m on build 272827 (its the lastest, right?)

I use AO, depth, diffuse (now), reflection and a few object buffers
(AO is not applied to project just as a renderpass)...

its weird that rgba results in an ambient occlusion pass via the render manager,
via picture viewer its fine- rgba as you would expect.
As I need to render a huge load of scenes remotely over night I use diffuse pass
instead of rgba which I was used too just to get the job done.

You’re very welcome, Mark, even I was not solving anything so far.

Yes, this is the version. R20.059 – 272827

Instead of the Diffuse Pass, is the single-pass working for you?

Based on all the information I have so far from you, I have set up a scene file.

• Defined the render-settings.
• I saved the file.
• Added it to the Render queue.
• I never saved any other changes with that filename
• Started the rendering from the Render Queue interface.

All fine.

Part of the setup was, to have a pure Regular Image> Save As… RGB pass in a separate folder. Which worked as well.

have not found a matching problem report. Since I can’t report any problem that I can’t reproduce, my wish would be to give the support team a note. Thank you very much.

Let me know if I missed something. I

All the best
