Hello Sassi, I hope this message finds you well. I have a question on dynamics when using Broadcast edition.

In the attached scene file I have a simple cube and floor. When you press the play button the cube drops to the floor, simple stuff. To do this in Broadcast I learnt you have to use Mograph for rigid body dynamics to work. So I placed the cube in a cloner, and set number of clones to 1.

My question is after pressing play and letting the cube drop to the floor, I want to delete all dynamics tags and leave the cube where it is and continue building my scene. But when you delete the dynamics tags the cube returns to its original position above the floor. In Studio edition when deleting dynamics tags the cube remains in its resting position.

I tried copying/pasting the cube after it hits the floor but this does not work.

How can I achieve this in Broadcast edition please? To remove the dynamics tags after the cube hits the floor and leave the cube where it is resting?

Thank you,
David

Hi David,

If you like to have the cube placed in this position, do the following:

Use the Fracture object or the Cloner Object Set to one clone.
Place your object as child under it.
Apply a Dynamic tag to the Fracture or the Cloner, as well the Collider to the floor.

Press play and if you like, set the Animate>Play Mode to Simple.
Play from frame zero to the end.

The Current State to Object should work while the Fracture or the Cloner is active.
Alternative, while the fracture or the Cloner is active, press the c key.
Delete anything that is not longer wanted.

Please let me know if there is anything else, I’m happy to look into it.

Have a nice evening.

Thank you, that works, and I like the option to press C as this makes the cloner editable but keeps the cube parametric.

Have a nice evening too, David
