odd shape to build

Been wondering how to build the enclosed shapes, they are a background being used for something else. Trying cloners and spline wrap, but know there is a better way. Maybe a sweep nurb, object in cloners? Not having much luck..  Any ideas.

Thanks, Jon Lewis

Hi Jon Lewis,

Please have a look at this file

Scene file
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/zNWOgt43aorucsvgNgaebCvKSwEZTW5blR7IvnlgdGK

The rotation of each stripe, is based on the Plain Effector set to Deformer. Adjust here the rotation, and the Falloff/Field.
The Spline.Main has a single point in the middle, you can carefully craft results here, or:
Go to the Spline Wrap parameters Size and Rotation Spline fields.

I assume that the vertical “specular” stripe is based on something else. Photoshop or a one more object.

Enjoy

Yes, Jon, there are often lots of options to do the same thing.

I had also the PolyFX in mind, perhaps that would be faster, but it felt more limited than to build a strip-object from scratch.

ENJOY
