Voronoi - Problem getting mass

Hi,

I am trying to get the mass value depending on the volume of each piece.

I have made a setup provided months ago for Dr. Sassi

However, this time I am only getting 0 value for all the pieces.

Maybe I am missing something, but I have triple check all the nodes and connections and I can’t not wonder why is not working.

Thanks

Don’t know why, I can’t upload a zip file (problem with mime type) https://we.tl/Xdntyj8Veh

Hi JVerdugo,

You have this post in mind:
https://www.cineversity.com/forums/viewthread/2682/#10290

Please remember, that on the first frame (e.g., frame zero) no result will be given.

I have send you an upload link. Sorry, but after some difficulties with downloads, I do not use download services from other than some established companies. (Besides, I really don’t have the time to read from each company the Agreement, and to click on just OK is rather ridiculous, who would do such thing, right!.)

Sorry about your zip problems, happens to me as well, no idea why.

The key idea was based on the simple math that when the mass is 1, then it is equal to its volume.
I will look into your file when I get it.

Talk to you soon.

I will wait for you file.

All the best

I checked everything, I can’t find a problem with the current release based on your target.

To give you an easy way to explore it as well, I have set up a little test scene file.

How it works is demo’d in the screen capture, see below, and the file is of course included.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/kPKsfRblgfuEHhp04xsUybSyFBRjDKGyjUlpuN9Fsbl

Note that it is set to moving mesh, to be precise, any other setting might come only closer to the math based results.
If you switch off the Source in the Voronoi, and set the cube to 100cm, the mass should be 1. (= 1000Kg, or one metric-ton, ~2,205 lb)

My best wishes for your project

Thanks for the reply, JVerdugo, you’re very welcome.

Please take your time. If there is anything that the file can’t answer, I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers!

Hi Dr.Sassi,

thanks for the tip, I like this little system to easily check results of Xpresso.

I have realised that I have also an Amazon Drive account smile So I am sharing now the file (Still not working Cineversity attachment tool)

Please take a look if you have some time. (No hurries) https://www.amazon.es/clouddrive/share/5nCjiInx43ZwYn33aGj4T5jhmpt954wbqH4XZaNN8wK

I have also checked if I was using other method than “immediate” for Dynamics simulation, but Immediate was already chosen.

I really have no clue of why is not working. Maybe at least one of the pieces is corrupted or not closed?

All the best!

Hi JVerdugo,

Cool, Amazon and Dropbox are certainly providers which I had no problems over the years. Safety first wink

You did everything correctly, but your model is tiny. Plug a Math node between the Weight out-put and the Print Node, set this Math node to “multiply by 1,000,000”. Just to get some results.

All the best
