External compositing with bend deformer

Hi, running into another issue, this time with compositing tags. Continuing with the video wall, and need to use a compositing tag for adding videos once in AE. After importing the aec file in AE the nulls are not lining up properly. I’m thinking it has something to do with the bend deformer? Is that the case, and is there a solution or workaround? I did keep the ext compositing tag on the cloner.
Here is the link to the file. http://download.jledit.com/4-cineversity2.zip
Thanks Much, Jon Lewis

Hi Jon Lewis,

Thanks for the file. Please have a look at the file below. I had to replace the images, as I had no originals.

I have harvest first the PSR in a Matrix, then deform it and use it in a Cloner Object with an empty polygon.

The folder contains a screen shot, which clearly shows the 13º bend.

Side note: CineWare (?) could help to avoid all of that – yes – I assume you have your reasons, but I had to mention it.

All the best

Thanks, not having much luck with Cineware. Only seeing extracted nulls in AE generated only from nulls out of C4D rather than the individual objects in the clone and with the bend deformer off. That may be ok, as they are on the same plane, but they are doing something entirely different, not matching at all. I see what you did in the C4D version, that works. The Cineware is nice, but have always strayed from it as it can be troublesome.  I’m starting to think it will be way easier to just turn the bend off in C4D…
Thxs much for your effort,
Jon

Hi Jon,

Did the “harvesting” with the Matrix and the Cloner didn’t work? I got the Nulls nicely exported via the aec-file.

That was independent from my Cineware comment. Cineware doesn’t provide data from External Comp Tags, AFAIK.

Cheers
