Dear reader,
Is it possible to render a scene in Gouraud, Quick or Constant shading?
I want to make a scene with no colour or textures. A rough presentation of a 3d model in motion.

Thanks in advance,
Kind Regards

Hi Michiele van der Velden,

Normally, Main Menu> Render> Make Preview,  is a quick way, but it has color in it.

I have set up a scene file, that uses the Render Settings> Material Overwrite, as well as a Filter: Render Settings>Color Correction_B&W
This color correction was set up in the Picture Viewer> Filter> Create Post Effect, while setting the Saturation to -100% (equals in other applications 0%) any color will be eliminated, e.g., from lights.

Scene File:

You can easily switch to this or back to “normal” in the Render Settings> My Render Settings. The little square on the left needs to be clicked on.

Please let me know if that works for you

All the best

P.S.: a complete white (B&W) representation that is often seen, which is a Ambient Occlusion version of the scene, but it is not fast.

Hi Dr. Sassi,
I hope this post is coming true…

It’s usually a problem to submit a post on the website of Cineversity.
There is a message that the form will be send by a not secure way…
8 out of 10 tries the post is not coming true.

Thank you for your answer..
That’s very clear smile

I’ve got one question left…
My team render machine (my other MacBook) is telling me that several plugins are missing. It’s the CV-ArtSmart and he’s quoting a path info.
Can you tell me how to solve this. Shall I copy all the plugins of my main machine to the plugin folder of the team render machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michiel,

I have abandoned Safari for the use of Cineversity for now and use Chrome. Perhaps worth a try. Anyway, sorry for your trouble.

Yes, it is certainly a good idea to have mirrored all the needed parts to the team render machines. But you might post that question as well in the CV-Tool Forum, as I believe that is a typical problem, and I’m certain that Rick or Donovan have a great extra insights to share about.

My best wishes for the project.

Hello Dr. Sassi,
The Chrome browser is doing fine. All of my posts are coming though now.

Thank you!
