Dear reader,

I tried serval time to get a shape in a spline (helix) with the sweep-nurb.
Made the shape with ‘edge to spline’ and with the spline draw tool… but when I add them together in a sweep-nurb the result is nog what I expected.
What am I doing wrong here?? See also my attached file…

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michiel,

Please have a look at the file below

I have copied your Helix and increased the size a little bit. It is the Helix.rail in the file. The rail is used to give the Sweep-Object an idea where to orientate the profile.

Please note that I have switched off the “Use Rail Scale” inside of the Sweep-Object. It takes normally the distance of the two Helix (in this case) into account, to create a size for the profile along the path. Which can be used to create a very unique object, as it takes always the local distance, not the average.

All the best
