Cineversity

Hello,

This is my first time trying out the lens flare effect in C4D,

After messing with parameters to no avail, I realised the “Use Light Parameters” was causing the lens flare not to show for some reason.
I’d like to use this feature to get colour and intensity of the light from the general tab.
I tried messing with various parameters but I just can’t get it to show with “Use Light Parameters” enabled.. what might be causing this?

Hi Nick,

As long as you have “Inverse Square” on, it will affect the distance to to the camera as well. So, in you file it is there, but very dimm.

One way would be to have one light set up as the scene needs it, and a child light (same position) with no Illumination nor GI, set to flare only, perhaps very strong intensity or Falloff off.

I didn’t need any illumination from these lights anyway, looks great now. I might send a suggestion to request falloff be omitted from this parameter though!
