Hi,

Have you done any Picnic Basket 3d modeling tutorial in any early version….any link? I searched but found any.

Modeling every thread better or just a big polygon and apply texture…?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi iacdxb,

The question is easily answerable if the final representation in the image is clear. Texture for secondary objects and modeling for primary objects.

Well, is it that simple? If you need only a small or even no ca,era move at all, you might consider camera mapping even, then it would be perhaps superior above modeling. Perhaps.

To get a clean texture, please have a look to this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JY7cpu-geE&index=33&list=PLOLI4wu7NPshPk2WgHQV1SOizTEkSoa5-
It is part of a longer series and should be seen as such.

Texture apps like Filter Forge (Photoshop) or Substance Designer allow for Bump Maps, Normal Maps and more. There are a lot of presents available as well.

Modeling such things is mostly based on XPresso, MoGraph or other procedurals. As in use the Spline points and every other one will be moved to one side and then the ones between to the other. This will mostly end up in geometrical shapes first, which are then modeled with an FFD for example.
The handle in the image could be a Disc, rotated along a spline and then used in a SWEEP.
Other options are based Polygon Objects, where the mesh is used to select first the Vertical edges, and turned into a spline, then the horizontal are moved, as mentioned, alternated back and fore, then edge to spline again. The amount of points is critical to get the alternate option, or one has to make a lot of selections ;o)

An idea with a polygon based, to get the edge to spline source.

Hi iacdxb,

Please let me know if you have a follow up question, there are so many options, and each project/shape allows perhaps for a certain procedure.

I assume the basket above was more as an example, or was it the exact target?

My best wishes
