Dear, if I use team render and there are xrefs in my file then there are missing pieces of image in my visual ... or sometimes the render just does not render at al. The team render starts and then stops after a few seconds ... I’m only just starting using Xrefs. The Xrefs are all grouped together in a folder on our server. I find very little information about this problem ...

When i render without team render there is no problem, when i delete the xrefs there’s no problem also.

can someone help me?

greetings

Hi Bilbom,

Your Preferences are set in the Team Render Client.Files> XRef part correctly?

With the Picture “Viewer>View>Show Bucket Color” you can see which computer is not completely working for you.

Have you tried to distribute this folder to each render node, just to gain more information, as I would think that this is:

Typically a Support question:

My best wishes

P.S.: I hope the support could find the problem, I have tried quite some variations here, and so far I’m not certain what is going on—on your side. Mostly I had switch of Local Machine even, to a clear idea of what is going on.
Perhaps try as well to save first with Assets and reopen. Again, the more information you have what works and what not, will maybe accelerate the time finding a solution.
Good Luck.

Hi Bilbom,

In the Prefercense for your Scene File.

Edit>Preferences [CMD-E]>>Preference Window>Files>Xref Project Load/Save.

Since you ask, you might have not change it, I would leave it on default.

Here are the options pertaining to XRef objects when opening or saving a scene.
Deferred Refresh on Project Open
Enable this option if you don’t want to refresh each XRef object contained in the scene automatically when opening a new scene. This can speed up opening a scene quite a bit, especially if you are loading your referenced scenes from a wide relative path. Keep in mind that, if you enable this option, you will have to update your XRef objects manually.

Reduced References on Project Save
Enable this option to automatically unload all XRef objects from the scene, when saving it. This allows you to save on file size, since the new XRef objects are by default saved with the master scene, and not considered as simple “instances” anymore for deeper interaction.

How far do you got with the support? I’m not certain how much limited access rights of the Client to the network will create a problem: Again, that is something for the support to guide you through.

Is the save with Assets working differently?

All the best

Dear Sassi, thanks for your help! I put the whole folder with the assets on my desktop and there where no problems at all. So i think it’s a server problem… I have to speak with the administrator! hopefully he can fixed it!

Thanks a lot, Bilbom,

Nice that you could limit the variables down to the network. I guess your IT specialist will figure the rest out, they are normally good at logical problems.

Crossing the fingers.

All the best
