forgotten name of tool or command to arc a polygon

I believe it was released in R14 or 15, you could select a polygon, then arc it to X degrees.
the photo kinda shows what i mean, I used a sliced cylinder for representation.  I am needing it to model a large pipe with divisions.  I know I can use a cylinder and throw it into a bend deformer, but that is not what I am after.

Hi Bobc4d,

Perhaps the Matrix Extrude?

[Manin Menu R17>Mesh>Create Tools>Matrix Extrude]

thank you for replying. No sir it is not matrix extrude this is a recent tool/command perhaps from R15 onward. for instance you select the polygon, select the tool, type in degrees of arc you want say 20°, then repeat as necessary.

What exactly do you mean with “arc it”, Bobc4d?

If the Matrix Extrude set to “Step: 1” it would create this, but I get that is not what you are after.

I went one time through the list of : “What’s new in R14, R15 and R16”, nothing rings a bell.

Perhaps a sketch of what you like to do. “Before and After”.

Out of the blue, just a loose thought:

But it would not follow the idea of 20º

this is what I mean.  took a cube, editable, selected top poly, knife cut down the middle, select the poly and did the arc or arch to produce the result on the right (made of a cube and sliced cylinder for example)
it could be I am suffering from an alcohol induced delusion, but I really do believe I saw this. the tool was not expressly made to do this but I was able to manipulate it to perform this function.

Thanks Bobc4d,

I have no single tool for that memorized, nor did I found anything today in the
Window>Customization>Customize Commands… List.
I used to know that list very well, as I used it to check my knowledge a while ago. It is certainly a pretty good representation of things in C4D.
So, I spend some time to localize what you are looking for…

It might be that a single tool does that trick, and I’m certainly aware that I do not all, I guess no one does ;o)
What I can do is, to just showcase how it “would” work, but I guess not how your memory has stored it, sorry.

Instead of the Pen Tool, Extrude will work as well.

If you find it, please share the name!

All the best

Thanks for the up-date, Bobc4d!

Very nice of you, as it takes the uncertainty away.

After the Matrix Extrude was not the one, I never ever would have suggested this, as it is since R10 part of the (as it was called then) Module.

For a single polygon with your initial question in mind, where is the difference, to the Matrix Extrude? (Rhetorical question, as this question is in the manual)

I’m glad you found what you are looking for.

Thanks again for solving the puzzle!

All the best.
