Hi, I’d like to control the light intensity and frequency of flickering. I have attached a file that I made, but it was a while ago and forgot how to control light intensity and flickering speed. Would you mind please taking a look< thank you, Craig

HI Craig,

In the XPresso editor, go to the second node (from left) and click on it (Math Node). Attribute Manager>Parameter>Change the value of “Input [2]”. This will change the speed.

Click on the Range Mapper>>Attribute Manager>and change the “Output-Upper”. This will change the max intensity.

Perhaps you create two sliders for that XPresso Tag [User Data] and put those as HUD into the Editor view. Let me know if there is something else.

All the best

P.S.: here is your file back. I have installed a second version of your XPresso idea. The two nodes “Math:Subtract” and “Universal:Integer” could be replaced with a Formula node “mod($1;1)”, but the Range Mapper has a Modulo function already build in. So I reduced the processing “tree”.

I have also placed two “User Data Slider” to the XPresso Tag. I placed them to the “Tag”, as you can now save the Tag as tag preset. Object Manager>File>Save Tag Preset…
This allows to select any light object and use the Object Manager>File>Load Tag Preset… to the light. (The Light node in the XPresso is set to Attribute Manager>Node>Reference Mode:“Relative Reference” to make that happen.

I placed it as HUD in the Editor window, but that is just an option, not mandatory for its functionality.

Alternative to XPresso, perhaps MoGraph works as well :o)

(I added this, as some people try to avoid XPresso, so…)

The Strength Slider adjust the Intensity and the “t-Project-Time” slider the speed. Formula Effector>Attribute Manager>Effector> {both parameter}

Hi Craig,

Same problem here with the forum/browser, must have been a glitch. Sorry about my late replies based on this, and sorry that things like this happen at all.

The F-Frequency work instantly, as long as you place the letter f somewhere in the formula. Something like *f to multiply a member of the formula. Use it as often as you like in the formula. … and note, that you can use parameters way above and below the slider range!

My best wishes.
